First Aid for Students (11+years) This is a government approved course for students in secondary school settings. It is a level 2 course and has been designed for key stage 3 and key stage 4 students (11+ years). A fantastic opportunity for students to enhance their CV and develop life skills. Teenagers in particular are some of the best rescuers due to their willingness to help and their general sense of fearlessness. The course is Ofqual regulated for students over 11 years. Practical and theoretical assessment Valid for 3 years 12 students for training session Course includes Student first aid book and level 2 certificate Subject include: what is first aid? Primary Survey Recovery position Resuscitation Safe use of an AED Head injuries Burns and Scalds Wounds and Bleeding Choking. Mini Medics (8-11yrs) Mini Medics is designed for children 8-11yrs. This is a very basic introduction to first aid. The course shows respect for the child's ability, make it educational and practical and install the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured. 3 hour course covering the following subjects: What is first aid? Defibrillation Recovery position Resuscitation (CPR) Wounds and bleeding Shock Communication and contacting the emergency services First Aid Kits Choking DR ABC Asthma Safety. Children will receive a certificate of attendance included with the mini medic booklet. This is a non regulated qualification and attendance is all that is required.
